Charlie was bred in England by a man known as “Boxer Bill,” the gentleman who brought the Roadsweeper from Ireland and bred him for many years (The sire to the Roadsweeper is a famous horse known as “The Old Coal Horse” in Ireland).  On one occasion, “Boxer Bill” bred the Roadsweeper to a wonderful bay and white mare, standing 14 hands, named Old Mother Riley.  The resulting foal was Charlie, a mix of incredible power, supreme manners, and unrivaled elegance.

The 1995 son of the original Roadsweeper (UK). Charlie has incredible conformation, temperament and color, he is a perfect example of what the Gypsies envisioned when perfecting this special breed. In 2005 we welcomed our first four foals, the first to be born in the United States

Since, Charlie has produced Gypsy Vanners from coast to coast and in Canada. He has proven that he passes along his temperament, conformation and color.

His 2006 foals won both the filly and colt 2007 GLGV Futurity, the 1st GV futurity ever held in the US. Airwalker, 2006 foal won the 2007 IBC class at DAD in Devon PA out of 12.

Charlie spends his spare time participating in select equine competitions, the prestigious DAD, where he qualified for the USDFBC another 1st for the breed. He also was the 1st GV to be recognized by the USDF as high point for the year.

When not showing Charlie enjoys long lazy trail rides with his stable-mates. In 2008 Charlie can be seen on the cover of the Straight Arrow, Mane and Tail brochure. Charlie is proof that the products are just amazing and make our grooming process much easier. He can also be seen on 06,07,08& 09  calendars.
